Fix: KiK Not Showing New Messages

Fix 1: Wait for Sometime

If there is an upgrade or maintenance in the KiK app, please wait a while for the new message issue to be rectified.

Fix 2: Check Internet Speed

Confirm that you have a fast and reliable internet connection. If your mobile data connection to a wifi network is slow, you may have problems with the KiK App.

Fix 3: Update KiK App with Latest Version

Keep your KiK app up to date with the current version. Occasionally, older versions do not function properly.

If your KiK app is out of date, it may not function properly.

Additionally, updating the KiK app to the most recent version will fix all earlier bugs in the app that the KiK support team was aware of.

Fix 4: Check Permission of KiK App

Make sure you’ve given KiK the permissions it needs. KiK app will not function properly if you do not provide it the necessary permissions.

To do so on an Android device, head to settings >> select the app >> Provide the appropriate permission by clicking on KiK App.

Fix 5: Restart the App

If above solution not work then try to restart the KiK app. you just close the app and open again . Sometime it fixes the issue.

Fix 6: Login & Logout from KiK App

Another option is to logout of the KiK app and then re-enter the app. This will restore normalcy to the app and may resolve the problem.

Fix 7: Clear Kik App Cache

When there is an issue with an app, clearing the app cache usually solves the problem.

To clear the KiK App cache, follow these steps:

If you’re an Android user, Go to the settings tab >> Go to the app manager >> >> Open the Kik App >> Clear the cache by tapping on it. The cache of the KiK App will be emptied.

If you’re using an iPhone, go to iPhone settings >> Locate the KiK App and click it >> hit the remove button >> reinstall the app.

It’s possible that the above solution will solve your problem.

Fix 8: Restart Your Phone

If the previous approach fails to address your problem, it’s probable that there’s a problem with your phone.

So, all you have to do now is restart your phone. Open the KiK app after rebooting the phone to see if you have received any new messages.

Fix 9: Contact KiK Support Team

If none of the following solutions worked for you, If you are still unable to receive new messages, you should contact the KiK Team.

I attempted to contact the KiK team and received the following response:

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out, and we are sorry you are experiencing this problem.

We have identified that the issue you are experiencing is associated with new chat requests (users you haven't chatted with before). However, you should still receive chat messages from groups and users on your contact list. There is no workaround, and we suggest you do not reinstall or sign out of the Kik app, as this will remove the messages in the backend. In addition, please note that you are still receiving notifications of new chat requests.

Nevertheless, our Development Team is investigating the problem associated with new chat requests, and we have also removed the New Chats tab while we work to fix this problem. We do not have a timeframe for when the issue will be resolved.
